Notifications Settings

Sefthy alerts arrive by email. You turn them on one by one from the Alert / Notifications card in your profile, and you can mute a single DR when you already know it will misbehave.

Sefthy alerts travel by email. Every account picks its own, so you and your colleagues can receive different things even while working on the same customers.

Where you turn them on

  1. Open the menu with your name in the top right corner and click Profile.
  2. Scroll down to the Alert / Notifications card.
  3. Click the switch on the tile you care about. The change is saved right away, there is no Save button.

Tiles are split into two groups. Active on every plan applies to every DR you manage. Plan-specific alerts groups the alerts that only make sense on some plans, each with its own plan chip. The counter next to the group title tells you how many are on.

Turning an alert on or off needs the permission to configure notifications. If you can see the tiles but clicking does nothing, ask whoever administers your company in the Console.

Which alerts exist

AlertWhen it fires
No backup performed on the deviceThe DR has existed for more than four days and still has no successful backup.
Last backup older than 7 daysA daily check finds the last successful backup too old.
Connector offline for more than 12 hoursThe connector stops answering. Another one arrives when it comes back online.
Device offlineThe protected device does not answer. Today this tile sends no email, unreachability is reported by the packet loss alert.
Backup failedA backup ends in error. If the error only comes from another copy already running, no email is sent.
Device over maximum quotaThe backup stops because the plan storage is full.
AutoRestore test failedThe automated restart test ends with a negative verdict. The reply from the Sefthy specialist who takes the case also arrives on this alert.
DeepVerify failedThe deep verification of the stored data fails.
Packet loss over 70% for more than 3 minutesThe connector monitor sees the device almost unreachable.

The alert goes to every account in your company that has it on, not only to whoever created the DR. The same alert does not reach you over and over, you get one until the situation changes.

Automated reports

If you are a direct Sefthy partner, at the top of the first group you find Periodic reports (daily backup + weekly DR). This switch starts on. Turn it off if you no longer want the daily backup report and the weekly Disaster Recovery test report for your customers.

Muting a single DR

When you already know a customer will stay powered off for days, instead of turning the alert off for everyone you can silence that DR alone.

  1. Open the DR page and click the More actions menu in the top right corner.
  2. Choose Ignore Alerts.
  3. Enter how many days, from 1 to 365, and confirm.

From then on the menu shows the reactivation date instead of the entry. Muting applies to the email alerts of that DR, it does not touch your profile preferences.
