# Sefthy — full machine-readable index

> Sefthy is an Italian Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) provider. The Sefthy Connector establishes a Layer-2 tunnel that extends the customer's LAN into the Sefthy cloud, so when on-prem infrastructure fails the cloud VMs boot with the same IP, same subnet and same broadcast domain. ## Glossary

- **Sefthy Connector**: small fanless appliance (NanoPi R3S LTS in CNC aluminium case) installed on the customer LAN. Originates the L2 tunnel toward the Sefthy cloud.
- **L2 tunnel**: virtual ethernet link between customer LAN and Sefthy cloud. Cloud VMs sit on the same broadcast domain as the originals, preserving IP, subnet and ARP behaviour.
- **RTO**: Recovery Time Objective — maximum downtime accepted.
- **RPO**: Recovery Point Objective — maximum data loss accepted, expressed in time.
